Megan buys 3 bracelets and 3 necklaces. Each bracelet cost $5. Megan pays the clerk $40 and gets $4 change. What is the cost, in dollars, of one necklace? How?

    (3x5) + 3x=40-4

    15+3x=36

    3x=21

    x=7

    Therefore the cost of one necklace is $7
