Suppose two variables are positively correlated. Does the response variable increase or decrease as the explanatory variable increases?

    When two variables are positively correlated, the variables would increase, decrease or change correspondingly. If the explanatory variable increases, the other variable would increases as well. If one would decrease, then the other would decrease also. The opposite of this correlation is called the negative correlation.
