    Answer: she jogs 2.75 miles.

    She walks 2.25 miles

    Step-by-step explanation:

    Let x represent the distance that she jogs. If she walks and jogs a total of 5 miles, then the distance that she walks is (5 - x) miles.

    When she jogs, she averages 5 miles/hour.

    Time = distance/speed

    The time that she spent jogging is

    x/5

    When she walks, she averages 3 miles per hour. The time that she spent walking is

    (5 - x) / 3

    Since the total time that she spent jogging and walking is 1.3 hours, it means that

    x/5 + (5 - x) / 3 = 1.3

    Cross multiplying by 15, it becomes

    3x + 5 (5 - x) = 1.3 * 15

    3x + 25 - 5x = 19.5

    5x - 3x = 25 - 19.5

    2x = 5.5

    x = 5.5/2

    x = 2.75 miles

    The distance that she walks is

    5 - 2.75 = 2.25 miles
