    A. 0.25x - 6.50

    Step-by-step explanation:

    (3x-1) - 2.75 (x+2)

first open the bracket by expansion and this gives,

    3x - 1 - 2.75x - 5.5

    now group like terms,

    3x - 2.5x - 5.5 - 1

    simplify the like terms, that is 3x - 2.5x = 0.25 and - 5.5 - 1 = - 6.50

    > 0.25x - 6.50 is the answer
