Two times a number, x, plus 3 times a number, y, equals 50. Four times x minus 2 times y equals 4. What are the numbers?

    The answer should be D. If you plug it in,

    -11 x 2 = - 22 24 x 3 = 72

    72 - 22 = 50

    4 x - 11 = - 44 2 x 24 = 48

    48 - 44 = 4
