A 5000 -seat theater has tickets for sale at $28 and $40. How many tickets should be sold at each price for a sellout performance to generate a total revenue of $153 comma 200 ?

    x: number of ticket 28$

    y: number of ticket 40$

    Then, we have:

    x + y = 5000

    28x + 40y = 153200

    => 28 (5000 - y) + 40y = 153200

    => 12y = 153200 - 140000

    => 12y = 13200

    => y = 1100 (ticket 40$)

    => x = 5000 - 1100 = 3900 (ticket 28$)
