There are 17 animals in the field. Some are pigs and some are chickens. There are 60 legs in all. How many of each animal are in the field?

    A chicken has 2 legs, a pig has four. 13 pigs x 4 legs each = 52

    4 chickens x 2 legs each = 8

    52+8 = 60 legs in total
