The number of women's shirt sold is 32.

The number of men's shirt sold is 13

    Step-by-step explanation:

Total number of T shirts sold on Thursday = 45

Total amount it was sold for : 406.50

    Cost of each women's t shirt = 9.25

    Cost of each men's t shirt = 8.50

Here, let the number of women's shirt sold = k

So, number of men's shirt = Total shirts sold - Women's shirt

    = 45 - k

Also, total amount earned = Amount earned from men's shirt + amount earned from women's shirt

    or, 406.50 = k (9.25) + (45 - k) (8.50)

    ⇒ 406.50 = 9.25 k - 8.50 k + 382.5

    or, 24 = 0.75 k

    ⇒ k = 24/0.75 = 32

Hence, the number of women's shirt sold is 32

    And the number of men's shirt sold = 45 - 32 = 13
