10x - 4.5 + 3x = 12x - 1.1
First combine like terms:
13x - 4.5 = 12x - 1.1
Now, move the 12x over to the other side by subtraction and you are left with:
x - 4.5 = 1.1
Now, add the 4.5 to the other side
x = 5.6
