First case: (positive value).

Second case: (negative value).

- (4x - 8) = 9x + 2

-4x + 8 = 9x + 2

Re arranging the equation.

6 = 13x

x = 6/13

4x - 8 - 3x = 6x + 2

x - 8 = 6x + 2

-8 - 2 = 6x - x
