Let the number of dimes = D

Let the number of quarters = Q

According to question

D + Q = 29 ... 1

And ∵ 1 Dimes = 10 cents

1 Quarter = 25 cents

So, 25 Q + 10 D = 515 ... 2

From eq 1 and 2

(25 Q + 10 D) - (10 D + 10 Q) = 515 - 290

Or, 15 Q = 225

∴ Q = 15

Again,

D = 29 - 15

∴ D = 14
