Cancel equal terms on both sides of the equation - 10+3-2x=-1, calculate the sum - 7-2x=-1, move constant to the right side and change it's sign - 2x=-1+7, calculate the sum again - 2x=6, divide both sides of the equation by - 2 which will give you your answer as x=-3
