Suppose you did a survey of male shoes size and the mean of that survey was size 10 with a standard deviation of 1.5. What is the z-score of a size of 11?

    Population mean, μ = 10

    Population standard deviation, σ = 1.5

    Random variable, x = 11.

    By definition, the z-score is

    z = (x - μ) / σ

    = (11 - 10) / 1.5

    = 0.667
