On a 45-45-90 angle and the hypotenuse is 2 square root of 14 what is x and y?

    In a 45-45-90 triangle, each leg is the same value. Using trigonometry is a lot easier.

    cos 45° = x/2sqrt{14}

    cos 45• 2sqrt{14} = x

    2sqrt{7} = x = y
