Hailey and Livee went to the candy store. Hailey bought a piece of fudge and a piece of bubble gum for

a total of $1.20. Livee bought 2 pieces of fudge and 10 pieces of bubble gum for a total of $3.60. Find

the cost of each fudge and each bubble gum.

    2 (1.20 - y) + 10y = 3.60

    2.4 - 2y + 10y = 3.60

    2.4 + 8y = 3.60

    8y = 1.2

    y = 0. 15 (dollars)

    x + y = 1.20

    x + 0.15 = 1.20

    x = 1.05 (dollars)
