How do I get x by itself when I have 2x=8

    x = 4

    Explanation:

    2x = 8

    In order to get x by itself you need to divide x by 2

    Divide both sides by 2 (What you do to one side you must do to the other)

    2x / 2 = 8 / 2

    x = 4
