Determine the solution that satisfies five times the sum of x and 3 equal to six less than three times a number

    5 (x+3) = 3x-6. First you have to get rid of one of the x's. you can do either one. so subtract x on both sides and u get. 5 (3) = 3x-6. 15=3x-6. So now add 6 on both sides. 21=3x. now divide by 3 on both sides and you get x=7
