Mattie and Leah each bought an ice cream cone fore the same price. Mattie said it cost her 2/3 of her allowance. Leah said it cost her 1/3 of her allowance. Who gets more allowance? Explain. No examples.

I know Leah has more allowance, but how do you explain?

    Because 2/3 of an allowance takes more money of of the total than 1/3 of an allowance, so if they paid the same amount of money the person who paid less of their overall total earns more allowance.
