Solve the problem.

Sergio's internet provider charges its customers $7 per month plus 3¢ per minute of on-line usage. Sergio received a bill from the provider covering a period and was charged a total of $28.70. How many minutes did he spend on-line during that period? (Round to the nearest whole minute, if necessary.)

    M = minute

    7 + 0.03m = 28.70

    -7 - 7

    0.03m = 21.70

    /0.03 / 0.03

    m = 723.33 or 723 minutes of time online.

    723 minutes = 12 hours 3.3 minutes
