A movie theater sold adult and student tickets. They sold a total of 200 tickets. The theater sold 28 more adult tickets than student tickets. How many adult and how many student tickets were sold?

    If 200 tickets were sold between students and adults (A + S = 200) and 28 tickets were sold more for adults than for students (A = S + 28), then;

    A+S=200; A=S+28 →

    (S+28) + S=200 → 2S+28=200 → 2S=200-28 → S=172/2 = 86
