when you divide my fraction by yours, the result is 40. when you divide your fraction by mine the result is x. what is x?

    we can use examples lets say yours is 80/15, and mine is 2/15, this successfully results in 40. now lets do mine divided by yours. 2/15 x 15/80 (cause we flip in division) is 1/40.

    we could use algebra, so we could say x/y divided by z/a is 40, so xa/yz is 40. now we know the ratio of yz to xa is 1 to 40, cause if it isnt, it would not be 40. now we do z/a divided by x/y. this becomes yz/xa, and this would result in the 1 at the top and 40 at the bottom so, 1/40
