4 quarters are in a dollar because 1 quarter is 25 cents and 25+25+25+25=100 which is a dollar

4 quarters. Each quarter costs 25 cents. 25 x 4=100. There are 100 cents in a 1 dollar, so that's why 4 quarters = 1 dollar.
