Let width = x

length = 6 + x

Area = length * width

x (x+6) = 27

x²+6x = 27

x²+6x-27 = 0

(x+9) (x-3) = 0 (factorise)

x = 3 & x = - 9 (rej) (solve)

when x=3,

length = 6 + 3

width = 3cm
