Answer: The space given up by the students is 1/4 of the total space.

    Step-by-step explanation:

Hi, to answer this question we have to analyze the information given:

    Tanks: 1/10 Games: 4/10 Student exhibits: 5/10

Students must give up half of the exhibit space to the other school. So, we have to divide 5/10 by 2.

    5/10 : 2/1 = (5x1) / (10 x2) = 5 / 20

    Simplified (by 5) = 1 / 4

The space given up by the students is 1/4 of the total space.
