Equation of a line is given by y - y1 = m (x - x1); where m = (y2 - y1) / (x2 - x1)

y - (-1) = ((5 - (-1)) / (-1 - 3)) (x - 3)

y + 1 = ((5 + 1) / - 4) (x - 3)

y + 1 = (6/-4) (x - 3) = - 3/2 (x - 3) = - 3/2 x + 9/2

y = - 3/2 x + 9/2 - 1

y = - 3/2 x + 7/2
