    Step-by-step explanation:

    3y = - x + 2 ... (1)

    y = - x + 9 ... (2)

    Substituting (2) in (1)

    3 (-x + 9) = - x + 2

    -3x + 27 = - x + 2

    -3x + x = 2 - 27

    -2x = - 25

    x = - 25/-2

    x = 12 1/2

    Putting x in (2)

    y = - x + 9

    y = - 25/2 + 9

    y = (-25 + 18) / 2

    y = - 7/2

    y = - 3 1/2
