First subtract 3: u/5 = - 2
Now, because u is divided by 5, we can multiply by 5 to get u on its own.
u = - 10
To check, - 10/5 + 3 = 1
-2 + 3 = 1
1 = 1
This leaves us with a true statement, so the answer is correct.
