    2x - y = 11

    x + 3y = - 5

    6x - 3y = 33

    x + 3y = - 5

    7x = 28

    x = 4

    2 (4) - y = 11

    8 - y = 11

    -y = 3

    y = - 3

    (4, - 3) is the answer
