At what root does the graph of f (x) = (x+4) ^6 (x+7) ^5 cross the x axis?

    f (x) crosses the x-axis, then

    f (x) = (x+4) ^6 (x+7) ^5 = 0

    => x+4 = 0 or x+7=0

    => x = -4 or x = - 7
