at a party. andy and april shared a cherry pie. cut into 10 pieces. andy ate 3/10 of the pie and april ate 2/10 of the pie. what fraction of the pie did they eat altogether?

    Step 1: Add Andy's and April's amount of pie together:

    Andy and April ate 3/10 of the pie and 2/10 of the pie, respectively.

    3/10 + 2/10 = 5/10.

    So both of them ate 5/10 or 1/2 of the pie.
