The gardener wanted to find the best water to use for growing his plants. If plants need a more neutral pH water for optimal growth, then a pH that is too high or too low will result in less plant growth. The gardener had 4 groups of water treated plants:

1. pH 4 acid water;

2. tap water of pH 6.8;

3. near neutral deionized water;

4. pH 8 basic water.

He would water everyday and every 3 days the gardener would measure and record the height of the plants in centimeters. After 5 weeks the gardener concluded that the tap and deionized water were almost double the height as the pH 4 and pH 8 water.
