A child threw 6 snowballs and measured the distance that they traveled, the first traveled 12.34 m, the second traveled 11.56 m, the third 13.03 m, the fourth 12.75, the fifth 10.87 m, and the sixth traveled 11.87 m, what was the average distance thrown by the child?

    First add all of the lengths together:

    12.34+11.56+13.03+12.75+10.87+11.87 = 72.25

    Then divide that total by the amount of snowballs thrown:

    72.25 divided by 6 = 12.04m and that is your answer.
