How do you decide which of the two numbers is greater if there both negative

    you could put the numbers on a number line and which ever number is closest to zero that would be the grater number.

    i cant make a number line but i know that two is closer to zero then eight so the greater number would be - 2

    so if you for a second pretend there is no negative and its lets say for example 3 and 2 so the 2 is smaller so in negatives it is higher. like in a bank account a negative 2 balance is greater than a - 3 balance.
