What is a research proposal

Definition of research proposal:

A research proposal is a document in which a research project is proposed, usually from a scientific or academic community, and usually asks for funding for this research. Proposals will be assessed in the light of the costs and potential impacts on the proposed study and the feasibility of the proposed implementation plan.

The main usage of the research proposal is to satisfy the reader about the value of the project and specialist knowledge. One must demonstrate that he/she has a work plan and that his/her project will succeed. It involves various types: pre-proposals, unsolicited (submitting without any prior request) and solicited (submitting proposals in response to the request).
