The total height of three trees is 11 m. Tree A is 1 m shorter than

tree B, and tree B is half as tall as tree C. How tall is tree A?

    11 = C/2-1 + C/2 + C

    12 = C/2 + C/2 + C

    12 = 4C/2

    12 = 2C

    C = 12/2

    C = 6

    Hence, tree A is 2m (3-1), tree B is 3m (6/2) and tree C is 6m
