5 7/8 is 47/8
Because,
You multiply 5 and 8 and then add 7, then you keep the denominator.

Well to find an improper fraction is where the numerator is bigger than the denominator and to find out the answer you would do 5 x 8 = 40 then + 7 so the improper fraction is 47/8
