Gwen and Bob hiked along a 12 mile trail that had markers posted every 1/8 mile. they hiked 4 3/8 miles and then stopped for lunch. how many markers will they pass after lunch when they finish the trail

    First, figure out how many miles they have left to hike. 12-4 3/8 = 7 5/8

    Next, divide 7 5/8 by 1/8 to see how many markers are in those last miles.

    7 5/8 / 1/8 = 61.
