Another way to identify the domain and range of functions is by using graphs. Because the domain refers to the set of possible input values, the domain of a graph consists of all the input values shown on the x-axis. The range is the set of possible output values, which are shown on the y-axis.

When trying to find the domain and range from a graph, the domain is found by looking at the graph from left to right. The range is found by looking at the graph from top to bottom. Find the domain and range of the given functions. Look at the graph from left to right. For the x values, they start at - 1 and end at 1. So the domain is - 1 < x < 1.
