    First, solve for the x - intercept. To do so, equate y to 0 and solve for x.

    0 = 4x - 2, x = 1/2

    Second, solve for the y - intercept. Equate x to 0 which will give us,

    y = (4) (0) - 2, y = - 2

    Therefore, the x-intercept is 1/2 and y-intercept is - 2.
