Hat is the x-value of the solution to the system of equations? 5x + 4y = 8 2x - 3y = 17

    Eliminate y's

    multiply first equation by 3 and 2nd by 4 and add them

    15x+12y=24

    8x-12y=68 +

    23x+0y=92

    23x=92

    divide both sides by 23

    x=4

    the x value is 4
