How is multiplying mixed numbers different than multiplying fractions?

    Multiplying fractions:

    you have to multiple the numerator and the denominator to get your answers and it may, may not be a mixed fraction so you have to simplify it

    multiplying numbers:

    you get one straight answers, no decimals, no fractions
