The cost (d) in dollars of making (w) watches is represented by d=25w+35. How many watches are made when the cost is 260$?

    With this equation, substituting D for the cost, you have

    260=25w+35

    now subtract 35 from both sides

    225=25w

    divide by 25 on both sides

    you get 9=w

    so 9 watches
