    A relationship between two variables in which one is a constant multiple of the other. The constant here is also called the constant of variation. In order to obtain this value, we manipulate the equation by isolating the variables. We do as follows:

    2x + 6y = 0

    y = - x/3

    Therefore, the constant of variation is - 1/3. Hope this answers the question. Have a nice day.
