    Given:

    pizza with a diameter of 16 inches.

    Find the Area of the top of a round pizza.

    The top of a round pizza is still a circle. The formula of finding the area of a circle is multiplying pi to the radius of the circle, which is raised to the 2nd power.

    Area of a circle = π r²

    π is equivalent to 3.14; radius is 1/2 of the diameter.

    radius = diameter/2 = 16 inches / 2 = 8 inches

    Area of a circle = 3.14 * (8in) ²

    = 3.14 * 64 in²

    Area of a circle = 200.96 in²

    200.96 in² rounded to the nearest tenth is 201.0 in²
