On a road map the distance between 2 cities is 2.5 inches. the map scale is 1 inch : 30miles. what is the actual distance between the cities

    We'll call these two cities A and B. The distance between A and B is 2.5 inches. The map scale tells us that for every inch, it is equal to 30 miles. So, we just multiply 30 miles by 2.5 inches.

    30 * 2.5 = 150
