    Ten times a number, x, is one-half the sum of the number and three.

    Ten times a number x = 10x

    sum of the number and three = x + 3

    one-half the sum of the number and three = 1/2 (x + 3)

    So, the equation will be:

    10x = 1/2 (x + 3)

    if we solve this, we can also find he value of x

    20x = x + 3

    20x - x = 3

    19x = 3

    x = 3/19

    S0, the number is 3/19 and equation is 10x = 1/2 (x + 3).
