Adrian's recipe for cranberry relish calls for 1 and 3/4 cups of sugar. He wants to us 1/2 that amount. How much sugar should he use?

    1 and 3/4 as an improper fraction: 7/4

    1/2*7/4=7/8

    He should use 7/8 of a cup of sugar.
