The rockford's have a square play area that is built around a center sandbox that is in the shape of a circle. the sides of the play area are tangent to the circle. they want to determine the amount of grass seed to but for the spring. if the diameter of the circular sandbox is represented by d use function notation to write a function to represent the play area only.

    The area of the square area is d^2. And the area of sandbox is πr^2=πd^2/4. So the area of play area equals to the square area minus area of sandbox which is d^2-πd^2/4.
