    Do 9 times 3 and - p times 3. when you simplify you should get 2 7-3p

    1. To make it easier, you can rewrite the 3 to the other side!

    3 (9-p)

    2. To distribute, you just take the term on the outside of the parentheses and multiply it with each term on the outside (seperately)

    3 * 9 = 27

    3 * - p = - 3p

    3. This would leave you with the following equation ... rewrite it with the letters first.

    -3p + 27 or 3p - 27

    either way works!
