Hana is putting the fruit she brought into bowls. She bought 8 melons, 12 pears, and 24 apples. She puts the same number of pieces of fruit in each bowl. How many pieces can Hana put in each bowl?

    So she has to put a whole number of fruit in each bowl so we find the greatest common factor to all of them

    8=2 times 2 times 2

    12=2 times 2 times 3

    24=2 times 2 times 2 times 3

    the greatest common factor is 2 times 2=4

    you can put it into 4 bowls at max

    so 8+12+24=44

    44/4=11

    11 pieces in each bowl
